Which leathers does Partisan Collector use for its pieces?
The leathers selected by us have been tanned so as to retain their natural characteristics. They are called “full grain”.
Our calfskin or lambskin can therefore have wrinkles, veins and pores. These natural characteristics give each skin its uniqueness and also guarantees its quality and its ability to age well.
Exotic leathers: alligator, crocodile, lizard or python are noted for their natural beauty and their beautiful patterns. Specific treatments can be used, such as smoothing with agate stone for a shiny finish on crocodile skins or hand painting for python skins.
How to take care of a piece of craft made in high-quality leather?
Leather is a living material that evolves, changes colour, softens and develops a patina over time. A precious leather piece is sturdy, but nevertheless requires some care to maintain its durability over the years:
- avoid contact with water, oily products (make-up and lipstick), perfumes, ink (pens and markers).
- take care not to expose it to heat or strong light for a long time (direct sunlight, through a window or near a radiator …).
- do not overfill your bag if you want it to maintain its original shape.
- keep it dry, protected from light, in its box or protective cover, wrap it in tissue paper and close it so that it retains its original shape.
- be careful not to use generic care products; they are rarely suitable. Do not hesitate to contact us for advice.
